Beyond: Sugar Mice

Al is lonely. Not a temporary or recent loneliness, a long slog of loneliness. However, Al isn't actually alone. A therapist come-confidant come-philosopher called 'Mouse' is Al's only ally. Al has come to rely on the guidance and comfort that Mouse provides, but as Al's world starts to expand there's less and less room for Mouse...'

5aSide Theatre are an all-female theatre collective from South West London and are a Lyric Hammersmith Next Generation company. The collective's new show 'beyond : sugar mice', a new play by Hector McCormick, to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2019. The play interrogates the social and psychological effects of loneliness in the big city, casting a gentle but sardonic eye over the impact of isolation and alienation on our central characters' mental health.
