Tami Stone: My Funny Bits

Tami Stone: My Funny Bits

‘My Funny Bits’ is Tami Stone’s debut one-woman comedy sketch show premiering here at the Drayton Arms before heading to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year.

Featuring a pick ‘n’ mix of sharply observed oddball charactersthe show is written by Andrew Ludlam, whose previous comedy creations have appeared at Brighton Comedy Festival, Soho Theatre and Birmingham Rep.

The themes of searching for success, fame and even love run throughout the show. You’ll meet ‘Jacky of all trades’ Madeline Moore, aspiring actress, catalogue model and nail technician. Casey Monroe, self-proclaimed (un)motivational coach and keynote speaker of the TED talk “I hate my selfie and I want to diet”. And, Dawn Pringle, lead singer of girl group Kandi Lace –X-Factor rejects with more attitudeand fake tan than vocal talent, still chasing their fifteen minutes of fame.

Tami Stone and Andrew Ludlam started collaborating in 2017 under the name ‘Bit on the Side Comedy Sketches’. Here is a link to some previous sketches on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbmtjZgIOBU53QsEk6zislQ. To date their material has gained a fantastic response and following across social media, now they are ready to show off Tami’s funny bits up-close, live and personal!

Training at Italia Conti and the London School of Musical Theatre, Tami Stone has been acting on screen and stage for many years. Whilst it’s always been a passion of hers, it’s only recently that Tami has decided to focus more on comedy. As she says,“You just can’t beat the thrill you get when you make people laugh”

Speaking of the inspiration behind the characters, writer Andrew Ludlam says, “I’ve always been fascinated by characters, who aspire to be more than they are… that brilliant mix of blind confidence and self-assurance, coupled with very little talent”.

'Tami Stone – My Funny Bits’ will be Tami’s debut live one-womanshow, which aims to put female character comedy firmly back on the map… albeit written by a man!
