Nocturnal Fantasy

Nocturnal Fantasy is a devised piece with seven devisers. The theme is the boundaries between spirituality and materiality in people’s daily life. Unlike traditional plays based on text, we are exploring this theme with a variety of theatrical elements, such as props, space, music, and movements.

The story is about a gathering of Amy, Lucca, Mika and Max, each one is there for a different reason. The party is hosted by the young lawyer, Max, and is set in his one-bedroom flat. Based on the character’s emotional journeys, relationships and experiences, the set takes us to several different places. But where is the border between reality and imagination, dreams, memories, delirium… 

There are few specific and concrete plots in the show. We would like to provoke the audiences' imagination and let them decode the clues we are giving them; Each audience member might have a completely different conclusion.

The play is funny, crazy, but also serious and deep. 

The story highlighted some of the problems that people face in modern society, such as broken families, professional failure, identity anxieties, and personal development. We hope with their own imagination, audiences could think of these issues and be enlightened by their unique experience.
