Pan

Pan

We exist in a world of borders. Cultures defined by the walls that keep the "other" away from the "other". One heritage begins where the other one ends. The development of humanity is fluid, yet we have placed a stamp on each identity - turning an immersive species into a divided one.

Eden Forum presents a work that smashes the dividers into pieces and reconstructs them into colourful, vaporwave-esque cultural hybrids.

What happens when Hebrew begins, and Greek ends? What happens when Pizzica is danced to a Zembekiko folk dance? And ultimately, what happens when we reopen the tightly locked door of cultural traditions? Ones that have been overshadowed by an Anglocized, normative way of living. Nostalgic folk songs, stories told by our great great grandmothers, dances around the fire. Pan presents a re-awakening of these traditions, and aims to revive them in a way that has never been witnessed before.
