Surfing The Holyland

Surfing The Holyland

"Oh, we have sharks here...but they're not in the water.”

Heather is bored of her job, bored of Ohio, and bored of (cough) fertility problems...so what happens she and her husband move to exotic Tel Aviv? Well, the Israeli "balagan"* slaps Heather with acute culture shock, a rejected visa, and a husband who finds God. So how does a clueless American survive Tel Aviv’s wild waters? She learns to surf!

Twelve colourful characters, four comedy ukulele songs and one woman searching for her inner chutzpah on a surfboard in this dynamic solo show exploring the immigrant experience, female empowerment and rebirth. A classic fish-out-of-water tale with sharp observational comedy, electrifying storytelling and bold physicality from ½ of award-winning comedy duo Hunt the Vigan. Told as a series of surf lessons that playfully blur the boundaries between comedy, musical and drama. Don't miss the show global audiences are raving about!

Surfing the Holyland is a work of absolute fiction. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental...It is 100% fiction....95%…At least 90. Okay, 70. 70% fiction.
